The story starts out with several women abducted by Gretalic aliens and they crash land on Valose. Jakkar is an exiled King with his warrior followers who seek out the ship that crashed for supplies and find the women, then he meets Lily who turns out to be his mate and they have a steamy romance.I felt Lily was a "mean girl" on occasion to Layla, but she does admit that she read her wrong later in the book. Still an apology would not hurt. Marie is a total sarcastic horrible woman who I did not like at all. Amy is Lily's best friend I could take or leave her in the story. The book ends on a cliffhanger...yep some of the women end up disappearing and it is suggested that the Gretalic's are using mind control on Jakkar's twin brother and others in the city so it just ends there.Also one of the warriors - Rayyar is considered a traitor working for Jakkar's twin brother, but since the "mind control" is being used how does that translate into being his fault?? Sure lock him up until they can resolve the matter, but consider the source.I gave the book 4 stars for the story line, I do not care for the cliffhanger especially since the next book is about Marie, although I dont think she deserves a mate at all, she could die and everyone would be better off. There are some editing issues but not that many. I dont know if I will read the 2nd book since I cannot stand Marie even if I want to know what happens. Several of the other warriors and ladies are likable so I hope other books come out about them. I am a huge fan of Ms Strom's first alien warriors series, and was excited to discover she was releasing a new one. Silver Savage grabbed my attention immediately, the scenario intriguing. The story starts with a bang - in more ways than one - and the fast pace continues, with such extraordinary attention to detail, that I can envisage every scene with ease. How people create these alien worlds and characters, even down to inevitable language barriers and how they are overcome, is beyond me! Now I am hanging out for the sequel! Excellent read.
